Coffee A Health Drink

I’ve been into coffee since the early 2000’s when I trained as a Barista with the help of the Princes Trust. When I first tried it I can only imagine I had instant coffee in my parents home. Years would pass and I study nutrition, drinking cold brews and reading over a module. There is culture to the coffee shop and the drink itself. So many brewing setups to choose from and the results – fresh and flavourful drinks to increase you in drive and focus.

Coffee isn’t an unhealthy drink but it’s not an easy drink either. It needs to be approached with respect and knowledge, if one is going to get the most out of their brew.

Gym goers, athletes, weekend runners, cyclists, they all dabble in drinking coffee and its powers are undeniable. Caffeine from a double shot espresso getting into your blood pre-workout will increase your alertness and determination to knock out a mean gym session.

Recently I’ve been getting into my cycling and running game and coffee is still the go-to drink pre workout. Maintaining H20 – Water during a gym session is important to not dehydrate during a session.

A cultural drink with Islamic roots, harvested in amazing locations around the world and enjoyed in almost every home in the UK, especially the health conscious ones. Yes Coffee beans, ground and brewed are healthy. Good for their antioxidant properties and cognitive effects, you’ll really enjoy your next specialty coffee drink now right?
