A good few years had passed since I’d been consistent, and a regular in my local gym. Heartbreak can do that; taking knocks in life have been common for me, however, with divorce and separation from my children, finding the motivation and clarity to maintain a training schedule during those times had been too much to think about. Getting back to clarity was a long road with admission into Hospital and not enough personal grooming time. Self-care is a must for us all and training in a comfortable fitness space helps to clear the mind, amongst the many benefits regular exercise in a well layed-out training environment give.
In the following post we will share with you what ‘Be the Criterion’ Lounge-gym for Men and Women offers. You could be battling divorce, depression, psychosis, friendship breakdown or feel now is the right time to begin or resume your fitness journey. Whatever your reason for training with us we have your best interests at heart and you’re in the right hands to achieve great things in your life going forward. Fitness training and sound knowledge of nutrition will help you overcome your obstacles by helping you focus better, feel better, look better and move amazingly.
Our lounge-gym offers Kettlebell training to pairs, as-well-as solo sessions, Cardiovascular training with stationary bike, Suspension training, Body-weight and Core amongst other possible styles of training. Our seated area is perfect for small group coaching consultations in nutrition and weight management, with a personal and enthusiastic approach to client needs. Training Men is coached by Mr. Hanif Tagoe, who also holds a FREE community jogging group once per month in the boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth. And not to forget, our members exercise to ‘exclusive’ playlists and instrumentals that may be purchased; and we sell Criterion Clothing – gym wear that you’ll feel good training in.
So, you’re in need of tips to get you off the ground and running towards your goals in our lounge-gym. First-off, know there’s nothing wrong with taking a break and in fact it is important to take rest periods of as little as a week, every 12-weeks to allow your body time to relax after a consistent training block. You’re raring to go! So enough said and here are some points that will make sure your time in our training gym and lounge will go swimmingly well.
Dial in your nutrition
Food consumption and the quality of food one eats will have and does have a major effect upon the quality of their training. Working with us on your nutrition will include learning about food groups, supplements that are helpful to recovery and the alternatives to supplement use, learning about your own relationship with food and how you can turn around negative habits and make positive progress on your fitness and health focused journey.
Know your training goal
Setting too many goals can confuse the process of moving forward so set a goal or two that are prominent and necessary wins in the short, medium and long-term, i.e. overriding goals that will be focal points of your training for a period of time such as 12-weeks to 1 year. An example would be increasing weight by 10kg for an underweight person or losing a similar amount of weight in preparation for a wedding or holiday.
Set the right time for your gym sessions
Depending on our schedule we will have training times available for you, with morning, afternoon and late sessions. The time that you exercise should coincide with the most amount of energy you have during the day and/or evening. Some people find they are more energetic later on in the day and others are ready to cycle hard early in the morning; whatever works for you we will be on hand with the skills to help you achieve your desired look and feel – to feel great.
Bring the extras you’ll need (kit bag)
A change of clothing and towel, water bottle, post-workout energy bar, these are all things you should want to have with you for each and every training session so you’ll feel at your most comfortable and power through your session with focus and drive. Criterion Clothing sweatshirts, sweatbands and tshirts are exclusive training wears that turn heads and set the standard for the pack to follow.
Journal regularly
Your achievements, new goals, session review and reflection, weights and reps hit, these are all things to document so your memory of training is memorable and also doing this will help you to keep track of the progress you have made over time.
A few ideas to make your training enjoyable and consistent which are two essentials to achieving goals in a fitness training environment. Whatever’s brought you to the ‘Criterion Lounge-gym,’ you’re about to change your life for the better God willing, so enjoy, learn and share your good news with friends and family.
